Pair of 1930s Art Deco Armchairs

Domestic Objects:
A pair of original 1930s Art Deco armchairs with beechwood arms and legs, retaining their original form and character. Upholstered in olive green rexine with traditional horsehair filling, they reflect the design language of the period where comfort, structure and material contrast were closely considered.

The chairs are generously proportioned yet compact enough for smaller interior spaces, making them suitable for bedrooms, reading corners or layered living areas.

There are visible signs of age and use, including areas of wear to the upholstery and a puncture to one seat, consistent with their history. These details do not detract from their structure and also present a strong opportunity for reupholstery, allowing the form of the chairs to be fully reimagined while retaining their original frame.
